    Three disciplines, three copies

    Core geometry sits in a neutronics deck, in a thermohydraulic model and on a mechanical drawing. Each is right on the day it is written.

    One item per cardinal value

    Core diameter is an object with a unit, a revision and an owner — not a cell in three files.

    A change nobody downstream hears about

    The value moves in one discipline. The other two carry on with the old one until somebody notices in a review, or does not.

    Studies link, they do not copy

    Each discipline's study references the item. Where-used answers who depends on this value in one click.

    The cloud is not an option

    Whatever holds this data has to sit in France or the EU. That requirement arrives before any discussion of features.

    Revising cascades

    A new revision of the value flags every study built on the previous one, before anyone signs anything.

    It does not run the physics

    It does not run the physics. Neutronics and thermohydraulic codes stay where they are; Koddex holds the values they agree on and the links between the studies.

    Each value needs one owner

    It only works if each cardinal value has one named owner. Where two disciplines both claimed a value, that had to be settled by people before it could be modelled.

    A reactor programme takes months

    Modelling the first three values took a day. Bringing a whole reactor programme in is a matter of months, not an afternoon.

    Frequently asked questions

    What is a cardinal value?

    The customer's own term: a physical value that several disciplines depend on at once — core geometry, nominal thermal power, primary flow. They are few, and they are the ones that hurt when they drift.

    Does this replace the calculation codes?

    No. The codes keep running where they run. What changes is that their inputs come from one referenced item rather than from a copy, and that a new revision of that item flags every study that used the old one.

    Where is the data hosted?

    In the EU, and on the customer's own infrastructure where a programme requires it. For this team the hosting question came before any discussion of features, which is normal in the sector.

    How long before it is useful?

    The first three cardinal values and their dependent studies were modelled in a day. Usefulness arrives with the first cascading revision, not with the last import.
